Fitness & Wellbeing

Overview

The Fitness & Wellbeing programs provide safe and convenient environment where one can begin, maintain, and improve their chosen level of physical fitness through group fitness and personal training as well as emotional, intellectual, mental, occupational, sexual, social, and spiritual wellbeing through presentations and events.

Participants of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

Group Fitness

The Group Fitness program is designed for Campus Recreation and Wellness members who are looking for an organized group workout that is energizing. Trained instructors lead the workout through a variety of movement combinations that exercises your muscles while having fun at the same time. With two studios and a cycling studio at two locations on campus, we can offer a variety of classes that cater to diverse schedules. Whether you are interested in cardio, yoga, Zumba, or our other formats, choose something that sparks your interest and join us today!
Classes are free of charge except for our Warrior Cycling that is a nominal fee of $10 per semester or $3 per ride.

Personal Training:

The Personal Training program is designed for Campus Recreation and Wellness members who are looking for an individualized, or buddy, fitness experience in a one-on-one setting. Regardless of your age or fitness level, working with a personal trainer can have a positive effect on your life. When you sign up with one of our personal trainers, you can expect a custom plan created for you based on your goals and abilities. We provide education, guidance, motivation, and safety during your fitness journey. We also monitor your progress and help provide you with resources in hopes that you can be successful and confident in the gym.

Wellness:

The department of Wellbeing at the Campus Recreation and Wellness facility is a dynamic component of the Mattioli and Rec B buildings that serves as a resource for the entire University community and supports individuals in their pursuit of optimal health and wellbeing. With programs, events, presentations, and strong collaborative relationships on campus, we can proactively address health and wellness needs of the students, faculty, and staff at East Stroudsburg University.

Group Training:

Small Group Training aids your student organization, athletic team, club sport, program, department, etc. in having a health and wellbeing component beyond group fitness classes and personal training. These sessions can be one-time or for multiple recurring weeks. Examples below.
Examples:
– Request your favorite instructor teach a one-time Zumba class at your next organization event.
– Request a personal trainer for an hour to take blood pressure at your next staff meeting.
– Request an instructor to teach a bi-weekly Chair Yoga at in your office during lunch.
– Request a personal trainer to lead a department wide Boot Camp class each week for you and your colleagues.
– Request a yoga instructor to teach Yoga each week for your athletic team.
