East Stroudsburg University welcomes guests to the undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies.
All guests require a ticket to attend the undergraduate ceremonies.
Doors will open for graduates and guests one hour before the Commencement ceremony. Guests should enter the Fieldhouse through the front entrance on Smith Street.
Smoking is not permitted in any of the facilities. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on ESU’s campus.
Undergraduate students approved to graduate for the May 2018 ceremonies will be given five tickets at the Graduation Festival. Please note that infants and children will also need a ticket to attend the ceremony. Additional tickets (if available) will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve bases after commencement rehearsal.
Anyone attending the undergraduate commencement ceremony in Koehler Fieldhouse Arena must have a ticket. Additional family members and friends may view the ceremony, which will be streamed live on our state-of –the-art projection equipment in Beers Lecture Hall for the undergraduate ceremony. Tickets are not required for entrance into the lecture hall.
Beers Lecture Hall is an air conditioned, wheelchair accessible, on campus venue (building #59 on the campus map). Parking lots 1 (College Circle) and 19 (Reibman Administration) provide the closest access to the facility. Please note Shuttle service is not available from the Koehler Fieldhouse Arena to Beers Lecture Hall.
Special Assistance, Seating and Parking Accommodations
ESU provides special accommodations for those with disabilities. Special parking is located directly behind Koehler Fieldhouse in an area clearly marked.
Special seating is available only to the student’s guest and one individual who will assist/remain with them throughout the ceremony. Disability seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and seating cannot be reserved. A university representative will be in the arena to assist you.
For individuals who are deaf, a sign language interpreter will be present in front of the stage throughout the ceremony. To request an interpreter, please fill out the Interpreter Request form.

Guests are to remain seated throughout the entire ceremony and are not to stand on their seats to take pictures during the ceremony. This is expected of graduates, as well. There will be ample opportunities for picture-taking, presenting flowers, and other activities immediately following the ceremony.
Graduates will be photographed as they receive their diplomas. Each graduate will receive an email from Lifetouch with a photo proof within five days of graduation, along with the opportunity to select from a variety of photo packages. There is no obligation to purchase photos.
Conclusion of Commencement Exercises
At the end of the ceremony, graduates will exit the arena through the main entrance. Guests may meet their graduate in the front foyer of Koehler Fieldhouse or directly in front of the facility. It is suggested that graduates plan in advance where to meet family and friends outside the Koehler Fieldhouse once the ceremony has ended.
Driving Directions & Parking
Once you arrive on campus, proceed straight on Normal Street through two stop signs. Koehler Fieldhouse is located on your right, on the corner of Normal and Smith streets. Campus police officers will direct vehicles to park in campus parking lots based on availability.
