Dr. N. Paul Schembari is a professor of Mathematics at East Stroudsburg University of PA. He has also been a professor of Computer Science and Computer Security at ESU and the Director of the University’s Computer Security Program. He has been a co-principal investigator of the Cybercrime and Computer Forensics Institute, a partnership between ESU, Drexel and Rider Universities. He has also been a co-prinicpal investigator of the 2+2+2 Workforce Leadership Program in Computer Security. Along with multiple students and faculty colleagues he has researched in the areas of Fourier analysis, data mining for intrusion detection, side-channel attacks on cryptographic algorithms, honeypots, steganography, deterrence of web-site defacement, the recognition of persons using hand geometry and facial features, cybercrime search technology using nonnegative matrix factorization, mathematics and computer security education at the high school, community college, and university levels, and the commercialization of cybersecurity products. Dr. Schembari is especially proud of his accomplishments in helping ESU achieve the coveted designation as a “National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education” from the US National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security from 2003 – 2014.
