Twelve Students Inducted into National Political Science Honor Society, 4 Receive Scholarships

Twelve East Stroudsburg University students were inducted into Iota Chi, ESU’s chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, according to Ko Mishima, Ph.D., associate professor of political science in the college of arts and sciences and Iota Chi’s faculty adviser.

ESU Selects Student Speakers for Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies

Kelley Y. Bahata, a graduating communication major from York, Pa., is East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s student speaker for the spring commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 6, at 8:45 a.m., and Erin Bienkowski, a business management major with a concentration in accounting from Jackson, N.J., is the student speaker for the spring commencement ceremony at 1:45 p.m.

ESU Set to Graduate First Cohort of NCC/ESU Nursing Students

In February 2016 East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Northampton Community College signed an agreement to accelerate the completion of Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees. NCC students who graduated from its registered nursing program can transfer seamlessly to ESU’s BSN program. This May, the first cohort of NCC students will graduate from ESU.

Entrepreneur, Robert W. Naismith to Speak at ESU’s Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies

Alumnus Robert W. Naismith, Ph.D. ’66 will be the keynote speaker for East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s two undergraduate commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 6 in Koehler Fieldhouse. Dr. Naismith currently serves as Chairman of JUJAMA, Inc. a company that provides customizable mobile and web applications for conferences and meetings.

Dennis L. Riker ’85 M’90, Ed.D. will be the keynote speaker for East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s graduate commencement ceremony on Friday, May 5 in Koehler Fieldhouse at 6:45 p.m. Currently serving as the Superintendent of Schools in the Nazareth Area School District, Dr. Riker has worked in the K-12 public education arena for 31 years.

Robert Cohen, Ph.D., professor and chair of physics, will be the grand marshal for East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6. Dr. Cohen became a faculty member at East Stroudsburg University in 1994.
