ESU Set to Graduate First Cohort of NCC/ESU Nursing Students

In February 2016 East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Northampton Community College signed an agreement to accelerate the completion of Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees. NCC students who graduated from its registered nursing program can transfer seamlessly to ESU’s BSN program. This May, the first cohort of NCC students will graduate from ESU.

Starbucks Opens at ESU with Two-Day Celebration

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania announces the opening of a full-service Starbucks on campus. Starbucks, one of the most recognizable coffee brands in the world, will be located in Lower Dansbury at the corner of South Green and Normal streets. Starbucks opens on Monday, April 24 with an official ribbon cutting, with remarks, set for Tuesday, April 25 at 1 p.m.

Starbucks is brought to ESU through its partnership with Aramark, the university’s food service provider. “Having a Starbucks venue on our campus will create an informal space for our students who may be studying, collaborating and socializing,” said Doreen Tobin, D.Ed., vice president for student affairs. “We want this location to be a place where everyone can opt to relax and visit with one another or grab a menu item quickly if they’re running behind schedule.”

ESU Participates in Take Back the Night

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is partnering with Women’s Resources of Monroe County for the 27th annual Take Back the Night march and rally today, April 20. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and this event is designed to raise awareness about sexual and domestic violence, support survivors, and empower men and women to feel safe at night, while also advocating for bystander intervention. Since the 1970s, thousands of colleges, domestic violence shelters, and rape crisis centers have held Take Back the Night events all over the country, focusing on eliminating sexual and domestic violence in all forms.

ESU Students Spend Day at Capitol Seeking Support for Universities
