ESU Named Among Top Colleges and Universities for Community College Transfer Programs

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is among the top 65 colleges and universities nationwide being recognized by Phi Theta Kappa as a member of the 2017 Transfer Honor Roll, which identifies the top four-year colleges and universities for creating dynamic pathways to support community college transfer. Other institutions joining ESU in this honor include: Ohio State University, Iowa State University, the University of Arizona and University of Kansas. Phi Theta Kappa is the oldest, largest and most prestigious honor society recognizing students pursuing two-year degrees, comprised of more than 3 million members and nearly 1,300 chapters in nine nations.

ESU Professor and Students Reflect on World Summits of Nobel Laureates

Dr. Quainoo, along with two ESU students, attended the 16th World Summit of Nobel Laureates from February 2-6 in Bogota, Colombia. Quainoo, who also took part in previous summits in Poland, South Africa and Spain, participated in workshops with other students led by leaders from around the world, including the presidents of Colombia, Costa Rica and Poland. The Summit’s goal is to find viable ways to bring about peaceful resolutions to conflicts around the world.

Madelon Powers Gallery to Present Student Art Association Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit

The Madelon Powers Gallery of East Stroudsburg University will host the Student Art Association Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition March 23 to April 7.

Entries will include a wide range of artistic media, including paintings, graphic design, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media and 3D printed works All current ESU undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to submit works for possible inclusion in the exhibit.

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is proud to announce the launch of the President’s Distinguished Entrepreneur Speaker Series. The series will bring entrepreneurs to ESU’s campus to talk about the various challenges they’ve faced in their careers as well as life experiences and educational opportunities that have guided them on their journey. The President’s Distinguished Entrepreneur Speaker Series begins on Tuesday, April 4 at 7 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall with ESU alumnus and founder of Philly Pretzel Factory, Dan DiZio, class of 1995.

Campus Activity Board Invites Community to Magic Show at ESU

The Campus Activity Board (CAB) of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania invites members of the community to The Extreme Magic of Eric Wilzig on Friday, March 31 at 8 p.m. in the Abeloff Center for Performing Arts.

Wilzig learned directly from masters of illusion in Las Vegas. He performed as a headline act in Times Square, to sold-out crowds in Atlantic City, and on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” Now he’s taking his show on the road, with a stop at ESU.

Students Prepare for Inaugural European Spring Academy in Germany

Yvonne Troiani Sweeney Lecture Series for Nursing Enrichment to be held at ESU

Yvonne Troiani Sweeney’78 always had passion for the well-being of her patients. She dedicated her life to her nursing career that spanned 30 years after earning her bachelor’s degree in nursing from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) and a graduate degree in nursing from Villanova. Her colleagues and patients became her second family. Nursing led her to leadership roles at what is now the Lehigh Valley Health Network, Franklin Square Hospital in Maryland, Albert Einstein Medical Center and the Geisinger Health System. Wherever her occupation led her, she became an inspiration to others for the incredible level of care she delivered every day.
