Pocono Mountains’ Theater Company in Partnership with ESU Department of Theater to Present Staged Reading of Stet

STET, a new drama by Kim Davies, will open a series of three staged readings being presented this fall through a partnership between the Pocono Mountains’ Theater Company and East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Theatre.

The staged reading of this drama, will be presented Saturday, September 24 at 7 p.m. in Smith-McFarland Theatre of ESU’s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg, Pa.

Band Musicians Invited to Join ESU Community Concert Band

Brass, percussion and woodwind musicians with previous band experience are welcome to join the East Stroudsburg University/Community Concert Band (UCCB) as it prepares for its Sunday, December 11 concert.

Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall at the University’s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg. Community members are welcome and asked to join no later than Monday, October 3.

ESU’s 2016 Enrollment Increases One Percent to 6,904

Enrollment at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania has increased for the third consecutive year according to university officials. ESU’s fall 2016 enrollment is the largest since 2012.

At the end of the first week of the fall semester there were 6,904 students enrolled including 660 transfer students, 302 new graduate students and 1,356 freshmen.  Members of ESU’s class of 2020 represent the largest entering freshman class in five years and an increase of 3.3% over last fall’s class of 2019. Twenty two percent of new and continuing students are out of state residents with the majority from New Jersey and New York.

ESU Brings Anti-Sexual Violence Activist to Campus Screening of The Hunting Ground

On September 7 the East Stroudsburg University Office of Student Affairs, Title IX Oversight Committee will host a screening of “The Hunting Ground,” an exposé of rape crime on college campuses in America. The stories in the documentary are told through the first person testimonies of sexual assault survivors. They tell of their assault, and their troubling pursuit of justice.

Schisler Museum and McMunn Planetarium Sets Fall Hours

The Schisler Museum of Wildlife & Natural History and McMunn Planetarium at East Stroudsburg University has set its fall hours. The facility is open to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The facility is reserved for pre-registered group visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Both the museum and planetarium are included in a single admission price.
