Department of Music to Present Senior Recital Featuring Paula Dixon, Soprano

Paula Dixon, soprano, a graduating senior at East Stroudsburg University, will present a recital Friday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall in the university’s Fine & Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg. Selections from Samuel Barber’s Hermit Songs and works by Mozart, Bach, Schumann, and Fauré will be featured on the program. The recital, sponsored by the Department of Music, is open to the public at no cost. No tickets are necessary.

Dixon, a daughter of Frances and Richard Dixon of Bensalem, Pa., is majoring in fine arts: music with a concentration in vocal performance.  She is a voice student of Dr. James Maroney, associate professor of music.

A past vice president of Vocal Performing Arts, Dixon is member of Concert Choir, A Cappella Ensemble and University Singers. Additionally, she regularly sings the National Anthem and Alma Mater at university events and was a featured vocalist in the Theatre Department’s production of Blithe Spirit.

At Bensalem High School, Dixon was a member of Feminus Vocalis, a select women’s ensemble.She also appeared in the high school productions of Do Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up?, Crazy for You, and Once Upon a Mattress.
