ESU Campus Community Advocates for Higher Education

Members of the East Stroudsburg University’s campus community spent Wednesday, April 15 at the Commonwealth’s Capitol, Harrisburg, advocating for increased funding to help Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) schools thrive. Students talked about their educational experiences and the value of the education they receive at a state institution of higher education. Pictured from left to right are Dominique Washington, a senior majoring in political science from Philadelphia, Pa., Drew Johnson, a junior majoring in communication studies from Lansdowne, Pa., Marisa Pagán-Figueroa, a double major in English and Spanish from Stroudsburg, Pa., Representative Rosemary Brown, Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D., President of ESU, Atiba Khan, a senior majoring in business management from Stroudsburg, Pa., and Franklin Munoz, a junior majoring in business management from Lake Hiawatha, N.J. PASSHE is the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth, with 14 universities. The state-owned universities are East Stroudsburg, Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and West Chester.
