East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania has announced that The Daryl Mitchell Program, which was postponed last month, has been rescheduled and will take place on April 18, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Niedbala Auditorium in the Warren E. ’55 and Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center. This program, which is open to the general public at no cost, will highlight the actor’s real-life experience with paralysis after an accident in 2000.  It will also feature a candid discussion with Mitchell about risk management and smart decision-making.

Mitchell is now a lecturer and is the minority outreach spokesperson for the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, a foundation dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy. Mitchell has appeared in numerous films and television shows both before and after his injury, including: Veronica’s Closet and The Country Bears.
