ESU Set to Graduate First Cohort of NCC/ESU Nursing Students

In February 2016 East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania and Northampton Community College signed an agreement to accelerate the completion of Bachelor of Science in nursing degrees. NCC students who graduated from its registered nursing program can transfer seamlessly to ESU’s BSN program. This May, the first cohort of NCC students will graduate from ESU.

Students who begin the courses required for the bachelor’s degree in the spring can complete the program in 18 months. All ESU courses are offered at the NCC Bethlehem campus and there are full-time and evening part-time options.

For Heather Tucker, choosing ESU to further her degree was simple. After getting her three children through college, Tucker was ready to go back to school herself. “For me, ESU was the most affordable option,” she said. “It was also nice to know I’d be done in 18 months.” Tucker liked having the option to take her ESU classes at NCC, a campus she was already familiar with. “It was great to be in a flexible program that allowed me to keep working as well.”
