ESyou Honoree – Laura Waters

Posted by: admin on February 3, 2014, 5 Comments

Laura-WatersIn an effort to recognize faculty and staff members for their outstanding service, Dr. Welsh has launched the ESyou campaign beginning with the fall semester, 2013. Each week the ESyou campaign will feature a different faculty or staff member who has demonstrated excellence in student-centered service. The purpose of the campaign is to showcase those employees who make an impact on our students every day, and for the students to get to know them.

Congratulations to our next honoree, Laura Waters. When you see Laura or any of our honorees around campus this year, please recognize their exemplary service by introducing yourself and thanking them personally. There is no greater acknowledgment!

  • Dr. Waters has helped strengthen the nursing program.
  • She has been instrumental in redesigning the nursing curriculum.
  • She contributed to the development of the accelerated RN-BSN programs.

Dr. Waters has displayed dedication above and beyond for all of her students in the nursing program. I can honestly say that she has been there every time that I have had an issue or needed extra help or guidance throughout the program. Kudos to you!! I appreciate everything you have done for me. A huge thank you to you Dr. Waters!!

Anyone who has ever come in contact with Laura can surely vouch that she is indeed a true treasure. Willing to help at the drop of a hat, brighten your day with a joke and always ready to give her all to someone in need .
For all who read this, there’s a little more you need to know about the true Laura that you may not see. She truly loves the people near and dear to her. One person in particular was my mother. Unfortunately we lost her a few months back but the one thing that never faltered was Laura’s love and concern for her. Whether it was aiding with talking to doctors through her bouts with chemo and COPD, to coming to visit 3 hours away whenever she had the time and helping us make sense of what we were up against. Laura was never too busy to help or bend over backwards when needed.
I’m positive this same behavior is why she is ESU’s latest honoree. ESU is blessed to have her on their staff but I am surely blessed to have her for a cousin.
You’ve always persevered no matter what life threw at you and did it with an amazing outlook and laugh that you can’t help but love. The world would be a much better place if you were used as a template for how people should act.
I know I can speak for AJ when I say we are all proud of all you’ve done and love you dearly.

Your little cousin,
Joe

I’m so proud to see that ESU has recognized my Mom for being the amazing teacher and person that she is. She has taught me to be a hard worker and to be passionate about the things I love. She’s the best role model I could ever ask for and I’m sure her students would say the same thing. Way to go Dr. Mom!!
