ESyou Honoree – Sheila Handy

Sheila-HandyIn an effort to recognize faculty and staff members for their outstanding service, Dr. Welsh has launched the ESyou campaign beginning with the fall semester, 2013. Each week the ESyou campaign will feature a different faculty or staff member who has demonstrated excellence in student-centered service. The purpose of the campaign is to showcase those employees who make an impact on our students every day, and for the students to get to know them.

Congratulations to our next honoree, Sheila Handy. When you see Sheila or any of our honorees around campus this year, please recognize their exemplary service by introducing yourself and thanking them personally. There is no greater acknowledgment!

Well, Dr. Handy definitely did help me when my counselor was not available and she showed concerned by asking why I took certain classes as opposed to others. Not saying that my academic counselor(s) did not help; just saying that Dr. Handy is not a “Department Chair” by title only.

She is also aware of happenings in and around campus especially when it comes to students, etc under her authority. Of course no regular human being can know absolutely every single thing that is going on and we are talking about ESU so she does a fantastic job with what she is capable of doing, etc.

Congratulations, Sheila/Dr. Handy! Although I know you more for your musical talents, I know that you are very dedicated to your university. Your students are blessed to have you! More power to you! God bless.
