Madelon Powers Gallery at ESU Extends Exhibit Cellblock Visions: “Set Free in the Petitionary”

The current exhibit at East Stroudsburg University’s Madelon Powers Gallery, Cellblock Visions: “Set Free in the Penitentiary,” has been extended through Wednesday, December 7.

The exhibit, a lively collection of artwork, created behind bars, from county jail to death row, had been scheduled to close on Tuesday, November 22. The gallery will be closed November 23-27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Hours for the gallery, located in the university’s Fine & Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Cellblock Visions is co-sponsored by the departments of art + design and sociology, social work, and criminal justice with grants from the ESU Foundation and the Center for Research and Economic Development.
