East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Modern Languages will host a Spanish immersion summer camp for high school students from July 21-25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The camp will allow motivated high school students to enroll in a dynamic, activities-driven week of Spanish-only language and cultural learning. The program is open to any high school student who has completed at least one year of secondary school Spanish.

The program will allow high school students to surround themselves with Spanish and Latin American culture and history and gain better Spanish-speaking skills.

The fee of $295 per student includes an all-you-can eat lunch at Dansbury Commons each day, conversational activities, cultural lessons, games, karaoke and more. Students will be able to access ESU’s state-of the-art language lab and other technologies. Lessons will include instruction on cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world. Virtual tours, videos and discussions will enhance the daily experience.

Each participant will also receive a Spanish practice workbook and camp T-shirt. Additional materials will be mailed to participants upon completion of registration. The instructors are Lorraine Angulo and Leo Teixeira, both of whom have extensive Spanish teaching backgrounds at the high school and university levels.

Space is limited, so registering soon, if possible, is recommended. To register, please visit www.esu.edu/ml. The last day to sign up is Tuesday, July 1. For additional information, email conexiones@esu.edu or call 570-664-0634.
