East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) will be the location for the special meeting of the Monroe Gigabit Project to review RFP results on Friday, May 12 at 8 a.m. in Room 336 of ESU’s Innovation Center located at 562 Independence Road in East Stroudsburg. In addition to information about the RFP, local expert Michael A. Kolba, Jr., of Sensible Technology Solutions, LLC will speak about “Minding Your Business,” Cyber Security for Small Businesses, Governments, and Non-Profits as Part II of the Cyber Security Update. Kolba will provide helpful strategies and resources to help determine weaknesses in smaller organization cyber security management. Mr. Kolba has more than twenty years’ experience with improving operational efficiency, data security, and system performance enhancement.

Unfortunately, no one is immune from today’s cyber threats and crimes. Smaller organizations tend to be attractive targets for hackers and threats. Typically, smaller organizations have taken some but not all steps to protect themselves against cyber-attacks. Many do not make the appropriate investments, either. The lack of awareness and resources brings a constant need to communicate with each other about cyber incidents and how to respond to and prepare for them.

The meeting is open to the general public at no cost. To register for the May 12 meeting by visiting https://quantumnew.esu.edu/machform/view.php?id=168240 or email Rebecca@LewisStrategic.com.
