East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania announces the opening of a full-service Starbucks on campus. Starbucks, one of the most recognizable coffee brands in the world, will be located in Lower Dansbury at the corner of South Green and Normal streets. Starbucks opens on Monday, April 24 with an official ribbon cutting, with remarks, set for Tuesday, April 25 at 1 p.m.

Starbucks is brought to ESU through its partnership with Aramark, the university’s food service provider. “Having a Starbucks venue on our campus will create an informal space for our students who may be studying, collaborating and socializing,” said Doreen Tobin, D.Ed., vice president for student affairs. “We want this location to be a place where everyone can opt to relax and visit with one another or grab a menu item quickly if they’re running behind schedule.”

According to Tobin, they identified Lower Dansbury, a space that was formerly used for meetings and small gatherings, as a great place for the new Starbucks as it will hopefully serve more of the commuter students as well as the students living on campus, faculty and staff.  The new facility will also be open to the general public and will accept Starbucks gift cards as a payment method.

Janine D’Esposito, general manager of dining services/Aramark added, “The intent of the new Starbucks is to be a convenient location for everyone to pick up a high-end drink or snack if they so choose. We are confident the new addition will be popular among campus constituents and visitors alike.” D’Esposito also said that during the opening of the new venue April 24 and 25 there will be a series of gift card giveaways and a grand prize giveaway following the official ribbon cutting.

Starbucks will be open for the remainder of the spring semester, Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. It will be open during the summer Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. For more information about Starbucks, contact Janine D’Esposito, director of dining services ESU/Aramark at (570) 422-3915.
