The Center for Veterans Affairs at East Stroudsburg University will host a Veterans Day Awareness Event on Wednesday, November 6, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the Quad. There will be activities as well as a fundraiser for attendees to participate in.
Representatives from the Army National Guard will be present with a Humvee and a video game simulation for attendees to enjoy. There will be a veterans videotaping session where attendees will have the opportunity to record a message and personally thank the veterans for their service. This video stream will be shown at the Center for Veterans Affairs, the Veterans Day program on Tuesday, November 12, and it will be sent to soldiers overseas.
This event is also a fundraiser for the VALOR Clinic Foundation, which helps find benefits and shelters for veterans in need. Please bring coats, tents and non-perishable food items to the event and donate to this cause.
This is a free event that is open to the public. For more information or special accommodations please contact June Pepe, veterans service representative, at 570-422-2830 or jpepe@esu.edu.
