Primo is here! The NEW Kemp Library Online Catalog!

Kemp Library has a NEW online catalog called Primo!

What Can I Use Primo For?

You can use Primo just like you used Voyager/Pilot, the old library catalog.

  • Search for and access books and articles that ESU owns or subscribes to.
  • Request books through EZ Borrow and articles through ILLIAD (these may be intermittently working as we continue to de-bug the new online catalog)

How do I search Primo?

Searching Primo is very easy.  You simply begin typing your search terms into the search box.  Primo will try and predict what you are looking for and where to find it.  If you are looking for books, articles or other items that ESU owns or subscribes to at the Library, you would want to choose “Library Catalog” during your search.  See the screenshot below for a visual.

What is happening to the old online library catalog?  Can I still use the “Find Books” link?

We realize that change can be difficult, so until July 21, 2017 if you are feeling nostalgic about Voyager/Pilot (our old  online library catalog), you can view a “read only” version here.  In “read only” version, you can just search for items.  There will be no new books or articles added to Voyager from now on!

If you need to use EZ Borrow or ILLIAD,  use the direct links on the library website or the links in Primo.

The “Find Books” link on the library website will stay up until July 21, 2017.

Can I still use the “Find Articles” link?

Yes… for now. We will keep the EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS, aka “Find Articles”) link up on the website until at least until December 31, 2017.  After this time, you will want to use Primo to search for and access articles from EBSCO or you can go to direct links to EBSCO databases on the A-Z Databases List.

What if I know what database I need to go to and can’t find a link to it in Primo?

I am having trouble logging in off campus to databases.  HELP ME!

Never fear!  If you are having trouble logging into library resources off campus, you can try our Off Campus Troubleshooting Page.  We recommend that you try all of the strategies on this page before contacting Library Staff.
