Catherine T. Klingler, Curator
Cathy Klingler arrived at the Schisler Museum and McMunn Planetarium in September 2015, after working for 20 years with the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh in a range of roles including deputy director of exhibits, curatorial assistant, and manager of media services. Prior to that she worked as a technical writer and translator. Cathy has also served as a volunteer and consultant for such organizations as the Pennsylvania Department for the Conservation of Natural Resources, the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, Johns Hopkins University Press, and numerous community groups.
Cathy graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with majors in Writing and German and earned a master’s degree in translation from Rutgers University. Through it all, she maintained her passion for science and nature. She entered the museum world by accident, discovering during a museum summer job that her range of interests could actually turn into a career. Now she’s happy to be at East Stroudsburg University, expanding programming options and community outreach for the Schisler Museum and McMunn Planetarium.
