Catherine T. Klingler, Curator
Cathy Klingler arrived at the Schisler Museum and McMunn Planetarium in September 2015, after working for 20 years with the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh in a range of roles including deputy director of exhibits, curatorial assistant, and manager of media services. Prior to that she worked as a technical writer and translator. Cathy has also served as a volunteer and consultant for such organizations as the Pennsylvania Department for the Conservation of Natural Resources, the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, Johns Hopkins University Press, and numerous community groups.
Cathy graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with majors in Writing and German and earned a master’s degree in translation from Rutgers University. Through it all, she maintained her passion for science and nature. She entered the museum world by accident, discovering during a summer job that her range of interests was something museums really needed. Now she’s happy to be at East Stroudsburg University, expanding programming options and community outreach for the Schisler Museum and McMunn Planetarium.
