June 13, 2016-July 8, 2016
The Northeastern Pennsylvania Writing Project (NPWP) at East Stroudsburg University is a professional development organization dedicated to exploring the relationship between teaching and learning to help students develop and progress as thoughtful, independent readers and writers.
Founded in 2005, NPWP works collaboratively with the Reading Department in the College of Education to develop a cadre of teacher leaders and celebrates the commitment and dedication of northeastern Pennsylvania educators. NPWP has provided professional development for over 70 local teachers through the annual Invitational Summer Institute-an exciting and energizing workshop during which teachers engage in research and professional development pertaining to reading and writing instruction. Many teachers who complete the Summer Institute become teacher consultants who conduct teacher workshops, infusing the knowledge and excitement gained in the Institute.
