Nominate a Book for 2018

In order to fulfill our goal of gaining more participation in the One Book, One Campus program at ESU, we are asking for nominations for selection for the 2018-2019 academic year!

We are seeking nominations of books for our program that will spark discussion among the various populations at East Stroudsburg University and in the community. The book you nominate does not have to be your favorite book but it should offer engaging themes that allow our community to come together and explore a variety of topics.

We are open to works of fiction, non-fiction, and anthologies. We encourage nominations of books that are written by a variety of authors and in various genres (literary fiction, young adult, memoir, etc.). We try to choose books that are of a reasonable length. We attempt to choose books where we will be able to invite the author of the text to serve as our keynote speaker for the fall semester. We only choose books that are available in paperback format.

Nominations are open until November 15, 2017. After November 14, the One Book, One Campus selection committee will meet to narrow the nominations down to a list of finalists. The committee will then read the texts and select our book for the 2018-2019 academic year.

Below is a list of books chosen for ESU’s One Book, One Campus program in the past:

  • “The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls (2017-2018)
  • “The Circle” by Dave Eggers (2016-2017)
  • “Your Face in Mine” by Jess Row (2015-2016)
  • “The Postmortal” by Drew Magary (2014-2015)
  • “The Other Wes Moore” by Wes Moore (2013-2014)

Please note: You are permitted to submit multiple nominations for the One Book, One Campus program!
