Below is a list of the student leadership positions available during the year, depending on the availability of the position:

Graduate Assistantship

Facilities GA
The position will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Director in the Operation of the Facility. He/She is responsible for scheduling, training, and evaluating staff, oversee the preventative maintenance of fitness center equipment and assisting with the completion of departmental goals. Fitness GA
The position will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Director in the Operation of the Group Fitness and Personal Training Programs. He/She is responsible for scheduling, training, and evaluating staff, teaching group fitness classes, taking clients and assisting with the completion of departmental goals. Leagues and Club Sports GA
The position will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Director in the operation of the Leagues and Club Sports Programs. He/She is responsible for scheduling, training, and evaluating staff, overseeing game day operations, and assists with the completion of departmental goals. Click here for the Job Description
Club Sports Athletic Trainer
The position will be responsible for assisting the Assistant Director in the delivery of athletic training services for home matches and practices. He/She is responsible for scheduling, training, and evaluating staff, teaching group fitness classes, taking clients and assisting with the completion of departmental goals.

 

Facility Positions

Facility ManagerRecreation Attendant
Facility Manager
This position places the student directly in charge of overseeing the day to day operation s of the Recreation center. This individual is responsible for opening and closing the facility, doing security rounds and supervising staff.
Recreation Attendant
The responsibilities include overseeing the operations at the front and fitness center desks. At the front desk, the staff member is responsible for greeting members, assisting with questions, checking out equipment, answering phones, and verifying access. The fitness center requires student to assist members, re-rack weights, and clean equipment.

Group Fitness Instructor
Instructors are responsible for creating and implementing class routines, motivating participants, and promoting fitness.
Group Fitness Instructor In-Training
This position is designed to prepare students to teach in upcoming semesters.
Personal Trainer
Trainers are responsible for creating client specific workouts and assisting clients to reach their fitness goals.
Fit Specialist
This position is responsible for the operation of the Lifestyle Management Office. The daily tasks include answering phones, scheduling clients, and providing fitness assessments.

Special Events & Leagues Positions

Special Events Supervisor
The responsibilities include overseeing the Recreation Center’s Thursday night tournaments. Some of the duties include creating rules for each sports, scheduling participants, purchasing and setting up.
League Supervisor
The league supervisor is responsible for overseeing the game day operations. He/She is responsible for training and scheduling officials, checking in players, overseeing play during games, inputting and communicating scores.
League Official
An official is responsible for officiating contests. He/she will be responsible for implementing rules and calling fouls.
League Scorekeeper
The positions duties include maintaining the score for each game, assist with checking in officials, running the scoreboard, and logging fouls.
