Pulse Memorial

Time: 12:00 – 1:00 pm

Location: Stroudhenge

Description: As part of Global Week, the Student Art Association of ESU, working collaboratively with the LGBTQA Resource Center and PRIDE, will install a temporary outdoor sculpture installation that will be part sculpture and part information graphic honoring those killed at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, FL. Join us for a vigil commemorating their lives. The sculpture will remain for the rest of the week.

Legalization of Hate Speech Debate

Time: 3:00 – 4:00 pm

Location: Beers Lecture Hall

Description: As part of Global Week, The Frederick Douglas Debate Society will present a demonstration as they prepare for a state-wide debate competition on the topic of Hate Speech. Come witness arguments on both sides of the spectrum on what promises to be a passionate and respectful exchange of ideas, very pertinent to this time in American history.

PULSE: Still Beating

Time: 7:00 – 9:00 pm

Location: SciTech Auditorium

Description: As part of Global Week, we are welcoming survivors of the Pulse night club in Orlando, the deadliest mass shooting in US history. We’ll listen to the stories, ask questions, and promote a spirit of unity and support among diverse communities.
