Global Week 2017

Spanish Consulate

Time: 12:30 – 1:30 pm

Location: Senate Chambers, University Center 2nd Floor

Description: As part of Global Week, the Spanish Consulate in the U.S. will be making a presentation about how to be involved through internships and other venues with the Spanish community. A great tool for those wanting to add weight to their resume.

Tunnel of Oppression

Time: 2:00 – 4:00 pm

Location: Shawnee Hall Basement

Description: As part of Global Week, we present this interactive event that is intended to highlight contemporary issues of oppression. The tunnel of Oppression meant to be an eye-opening, consciousness raising and immersive experience. Participation in this program will stimulate thoughts, feelings, and emotions around the issues and images being portrayed.

Disability Simulation

Time: 2:00 – 4:00 pm

Location: Linden Hall Lounge

Description: As part of Global Week, we will take time to learn and explore our differences in a way many of us overlook—ability. Take a time and put yourself in someone else’s shoes and participate in this hands on activity where we experience living with disabilities while removing old stereotypes about a productive community in our society.

“Moana” Movie

Time: 8:00 – 10:00

Location: Main Quad (rain location Lenape Lounge)

Description: As part of Global week, CAB will be showing the movie “MOANA”—a highly-rated animated film filled with music, comedy and adventure, starting the voices of Auli’I Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson. Moana is based on an ancient Polynesian culture, but in this fictional movie a curse is placed on the Pacific Islands due to the demigod, Maui. It is up to the village’s Chief’s daughter, Moana, to save her village in this adventure for the ages. Enjoy the movie while trying out different types of snacks from all around the world!
