How much will a post card, 5″ x 7″ photo etc. cost? (a.k.a. If You Don’t want 8.5″x11″, 11″x17″ or 12″x18″)
We charge by the sheet for printing, so essentially what you do is figure out how many sheets you need, and then you have your price!
- All 3 of our sheet sizes have a .25″ border around all 4 edges that will not print; see borderless printing first if you don’t understand what this means.
- If what you want is SMALLER than one of our sheet sizes, the simple solution is to pick the next largest size, and cut it down to the size you need. For example, if you want an 8″ x 10″ photo, get it printed on 8.5″ x 11″ paper and cut off the excess. (Or pay us to cut it down, $.25 per cut.)
Multiple on a Page
Sometimes, you can two, four, or even more copies of something small like a post card onto one of our sheet sizes. There are 2 basic ways to accomplish this.
- Set the pages up yourself. We don’t care how many “things” you have on the page you’re printing! You can use whatever layout program you like, as long as you make a .pdf or .jpg to give to us. This approach is especially appropriate if you have a lot of little odd sized things that you can put on the same page(s) to save on printing costs.
- Give us a pdf of one post card, for example, and we can put as many on a page as will fit.
What if it’s too big?
The largest sheet of paper we can run is 12″ x 18.” We cannot print larger than that in-house. For ESU organizations, we can sub-contract for larger prints, or you can go off campus to an outside vendor if you are an individual.
