Here are some tips for preparing your files for printing. By making your file into a PDF or JPG, you will avoid missing fonts, text reflow, and other potential problems.
Just in time to announce at the Student Organizations Summit, the Graphics Center has updated the Flyer special! For only $30. you get a flyer design, 60 color copies and THREE different adaptations of the design! And now, for an extra $3. you can get 11 x 17 posters instead of the letter sized flyers.
What’s an “adaptation?” It’s when you take a design and re-configure for different purposes. It would be nice if there were a magic button to take an 8.5″ x 11″ vertical flyer and suddenly it’s a 3.722″ x 3″ Stroud Courier ad, or a 1512 x 432 pixel web banner, or a square format to post on Instagram. But there is no magic button-designers can’t simply shrink things or stretch them without risking disastrously ugly, and often unreadable results! But we can take the same fonts, colors, images and graphic concept and re-make them into a different format for a different purpose. So, with this special, student organizations can get professionally designed publicity that won’t break the budget!
Just in time for budget proposals; the Graphics Center will design a color flyer and print 60 8.5″ x 11″ color copies of it, design a Stroud Courier ad and give you a digital version you can post online, email etc., all for only $30, a cost savings of $17. This special is only for ESU student organizations.

Feel free to bring a file you would like copied or printed and your curiosity! Learn what the Graphics Center does-and can do for you.
We charge by the sheet for printing, so essentially what you do is figure out how many sheets you need, and then you have your price!
Sometimes, you can two, four, or even more copies of something small like a post card onto one of our sheet sizes. There are 2 basic ways to accomplish this.
The largest sheet of paper we can run is 12″ x 18.” We cannot print larger than that in-house. For ESU organizations, we can sub-contract for larger prints, or you can go off campus to an outside vendor if you are an individual.
unfortunately, I can’t answer that question until you give me enough information to get a price quote for you. Below is a handy list of factors that will affect the price of the shirt.
If you pay as much for a printer as you would for a new car-or a house-it is not going to have “borderless printing.” Even-in fact especially-million dollar printing presses, do NOT have “borderless printing!” Most people are familiar with the consumer level (low end) printers that plug into a computer; most people do NOT have any experience whatsoever operating a professional level printer or press, so it’s not surprising there are misconceptions! “Borderless printing” is one of those misconceptions. Hi end printers and presses – the kinds of machines that can print millions of sheets of paper-don’t print over the edge of the paper; that would be far too inaccurate for professional machines.
The Graphics Center has a production level printer, that is, a printer on a level far beyond consumer level, and as a result, we do not have “borderless printing.” Every size sheet of paper that we run will have up to .25″ white border on all 4 sides. If you want full bleed-that’s the printer’s term for “borderless,” that is, the image goes over the edge with no white border, you need to print on a larger sheet and cut off the white. We offer 8.5″ x 11″, 11″ x 17″ and 12″ x 18″ sheet sizes.
