{"id":15984,"date":"2017-07-07T10:00:08","date_gmt":"2017-07-07T14:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quantumnew.esu.edu\/insider\/?p=15984"},"modified":"2017-07-07T10:00:08","modified_gmt":"2017-07-07T14:00:08","slug":"esu-residence-life-top-fundraiser-in-greater-poconos-relay-for-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quantum.esu.edu\/backup_insider\/esu-residence-life-top-fundraiser-in-greater-poconos-relay-for-life\/","title":{"rendered":"ESU Residence Life Top Fundraiser in Greater Poconos Relay for Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania\u2019s Office of Residence life was the top fundraising team in this year\u2019s Greater Pocono 24-hour \u201cRelay for Life,\u201d which was hosted at ESU\u2019s Eiler-Martin Stadium Saturday, June 17 \u2013 Sunday, June 18.<\/p>\n<p>ESU\u2019s Office of Residence Life has had a staff team since the American Cancer Society\u2019s Relay for Life initiative began in Monroe County over 25 years ago. This year the team brought in $23,246. Bob Moses, director of residence life &amp; housing, was the top fundraiser in the relay with $10,025 in donations. Kelly Weaber, residence director of Hawthorn Suites, was the second highest bringing in a total of $4,709.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to relay until, hopefully, one day we will no longer need to\u2026until a cure for cancer is discovered,\u201d Moses said.<\/p>\n<p><em>According to <\/em>Lisa Hoey, senior community development manager for the American Cancer Society, this year\u2019s goal is $136,800.
