Ready to Succeed Scholarships Awarded to 40 ESU Students

The Ready to Succeed Scholarship Program (RTSS) is helping Pennsylvania college students with funding for their education.
The program, which was launched this year after Pennsylvania allocated $5 million for the merit-based scholarship in its budget, was available for college students attending private and public schools in Pennsylvania.
At East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania 40 scholarships were awarded for the 2014-2015 academic year as a part of the RTSS program.
To qualify, students must have completed their freshman year, have at least a 3.25 GPA and have a family income that does not exceed $110,000. Students who receive needs-based scholarships are eligible as well. There is no limit for how many students a school can nominate.
Awards range from $296 to $1,000 each semester. The scholarship can be used toward tuition, books, living expenses, fees or supplies.
“The RTSS program provided some much needed additional funding to 40 of our students to help them meet their educational costs this year,” Kizzy Morris, ESU registrar and director of the student enrollment center, said. “These students worked really hard to maintain success in their academic lives.”
