ESU Hosts Largest Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Breakfast in History

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania celebrated the 18th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast with the largest crowd in history on Monday. David Crosby Jr., founder and lead pastor of Community Church in Tobyhanna, Pa. and the keynote speaker for this event, addressed a crowd of approximately 430 people. The recipients of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Awards and the Gertrude Mary Smith Boddie Scholarships and the winners of the Julianna V. Bolt Art Contest were announced at the breakfast.
From left to right at ESU’s 18th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Breakfast on Monday, January 19, are the Boddie Scholarship winners: ESU Marisa Pagan- Figueroa, a senior major in English and Spanish and International Studies minor from Bethlehem, Pa.; Raymond Ocasio, a senior biology major from Allentown, Pa; President of East Stroudsburg University Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D.; and Aalih Hussein, a senior majoring in social work and sociology with a minor in women’s studies from East Stroudsburg, Pa.
