Twelve Students Named Outstanding Leaders in National Publication

Twelve students from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) have been selected as national outstanding leaders and will be featured in the 2015 publication, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. For the past 81 years, this publication has honored outstanding campus leaders for their scholastic, leadership and community achievements.

ESU students being honored this year are: Brittany Washington, a senior majoring in speech-language pathology from Summitville, N.Y., Alyssa Simeone, a junior majoring in biology from Mount Pocono, Xena Mei, a senior majoring in exercise science from Whitehall, Dylan Joseph Matsago, a senior majoring in middle level education from Tamaqua, Erica Mastrogiovanni, a junior majoring in social work from Bangor, Rachal Lachow, a senior majoring in sport management from Levittown, N.Y., Eric Januszkiewicz, a senior majoring in biology from New Paltz, N.Y., Nicole Friedberg, a junior majoring in public health from Sussex, N.J., Savannah Doyle, a senior majoring in psychology from East Stroudsburg, Emily Creveling, a senior majoring in hotel, restaurant and tourism management from East Stroudsburg, Katelyn Clancy, a senior majoring in speech-language pathology from Northampton, and Melissa Ciment, a senior majoring in speech-language pathology from Southampton.

The campus nominating committee and the editors of the annual Who’s Who directory have recognized these students based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. They join an elite group of students selected from more than 2,300 institutions of higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign countries. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1934.

Through its years of serving higher education, Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges has become one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors programs in the nation, having earned the overwhelming respect of college faculties and administrations. For the students – the outstanding campus leaders of the year – national recognition by the Who’s Who program marks a pinnacle of scholastic achievement.
