East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania graduate Margaret Kuchinski was among nine ROTC graduates from area universities to be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. A ceremony was held at The University of Scranton in May. Kuchinski, a native of Moosic, Pa. graduated from ESU in May with a bachelor of science in criminal justice.

Let me add my congratulations. I am thrilled to see an ESU graduate enter the armed forces from ROTC. When I graduated in 1967 that was not an option, so I chose OCS. Serving in the armed forces is an honorable and rewarding occupation. Best of luck as you keep us free and safe!

Congratulations, Margaret! As the parent of an Army veteran, I – to some extent – understand your sacrifice. Thank you for protecting freedom around the world.
