Jeannette Walls, author of The Glass Castle, spoke at East Stroudsburg University on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

One of only six appearances across the United States this this fall, Walls’s stop at ESU concluded this year’s One Book, One Campus program which focused on the memoir.

The author spoke of her hard-fought journey of the various struggles and long-lasting emotional burdens of destitution.

Students, faculty, and staff discussed such themes found in the memoir throughout the fall semester.

I’m glad I was fortunate enough to attend this event which had a tremendous turnout. “The Glass Castle” was quite riveting and I believe a good choice for the One Book, One Campus program. Ms Walls’ speech seemed to be motivational in her encouragement of people being true to themselves as well a compassionate to others. I also appreciated her being able to stay as late as she did to autograph everyone’s book.
