“What’s My Future” and Choosing the Right College, This Week’s Topics on Infinite Opportunities

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will be featured in this week’s episode of Infinite Opportunities, which will air Sunday morning on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN). Students and faculty will discuss how a student run design agency, New Mind Design, helps prepare students for life after graduation.

Along with ESU, the show will include video visits to the campuses of California and Edinboro Universities of Pennsylvania, as it answers the question: “What’s My Future?”

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania student Jiovanni Negron-Garcia will talk about how he chose a college during this week’s roundtable discussion.

Infinite Opportunities airs at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday on PCN. The half-hour, public affairs program features roundtable discussions with faculty, staff, students and alumni from the 14 State System universities talking about a range of higher education topics and issues. State System Interim Chancellor Karen M. Whitney moderates the weekly discussions. Each program also offers viewers the opportunity to “travel” back to the universities to learn more about how they address the various topics on campus.

This week Negron-Garcia will talk about how he decided to attend Kutztown University, and will offer advice to high school students who are ready to begin their own college search. He will be joined by Jeff Jones, Kutztown’s director of admissions and John Snyder, associate director of career education and development at Slippery Rock University. They will discuss what students should be thinking about when deciding both what and where they want to study.

Each weekly episode of Infinite Opportunities is reshown at 6 p.m. the following Saturday on PCN. This program will be rebroadcast on Jan. 20. Prior episodes, including those from the first three seasons, also can be viewed at www.passhe.edu/InfiniteOpportunities.

Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education is the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth, enrolling more than 100,000 degree-seeking students and thousands more in certificate and other career-development programs. Collectively, the 14 universities that comprise the State System offer more than 2,300 degree and certificate programs in more than 530 academic areas. Nearly 520,000 State System university alumni live in Pennsylvania.

The State System universities are Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania. The universities also operate branch campuses in Oil City (Clarion), Freeport and Punxsutawney (IUP), and Clearfield (Lock Haven), and offer classes and programs at several regional centers, including the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg and in Center City in Philadelphia.
