ESU Receives Commemorative Mosaic

As part of East Stroudsburg University’s 125th anniversary celebration, the Global Week Committee asked members of the ESU community to take part in designing a mosaic of the ESU logo during this year’s World Fair.
Designed and donated by Jill McLaren of Liztech Jewelry, the mosaic is made of red and black ESU pencils and white title. During ESU’s World Fair earlier this year, students participated in the creation of the mosaic with each student placing a piece of tile or pencil in place to create the ESU logo and solidifying their place as a member of ESU’s campus community.
The various mediums used represented different factions of ESU. For example, the pencils represented learning/academics, the frosted metal represented the technological advancements in the future of higher education, the tile background represented the administration, faculty and staff, etc. The mosaic will be on display at 125th Anniversary events on campus during the upcoming fall semester, including a Founder’s Day Celebration on September 12.
