East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, and members of the community to Homecoming 2018. This year’s theme, “Our Legacy; Service – Spirit – Warrior,” will continue to celebrate ESU’s 125 Anniversary. An extended weekend packed with exciting activities kicks off October 4 with two ESU traditions. The 18th annual Pink Light Walk followed by the 10th Annual Drag Show. The Pink Light Walk will begin at 5 p.m. in the ESU Science and Technology Center on Normal Street with education tables with interactive programs and information regarding Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono’s free mammogram voucher program service. The Pink Light Walk will begin from there at 6 p.m. and will end at the Dale and Frances Hughes Cancer Center located on 181 East Brown Street.

The Drag Show, will once again be hosted by Sharron Ann Husbands and Carolann Carolann, and begins at 8 p.m. in the Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts.

Homecoming this year will include a Legacy Torch Run, inspired by an event which was highlighted in the opening of the ESU’s 100th Anniversary Time Capsule. The 2018 torch run is a symbolic passing of Homecoming spirit from the Alumni to the current students at ESU. On Friday, October 5, a torch will be lit at the Alumni Awards Banquet at Stroudsmoor Country Inn and it will be carried by different campus representatives through the streets of Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg. Upon arrival to campus, the torch will light the bonfire.

The bonfire will be held on the rugby field behind Dansbury Commons. The bonfire will be the site of the Homecoming Royalty reveal, as well as feature performances from different organizations on campus. The bonfire will take place on from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The Alumni Association welcomes back all alumni including the Class of 1968 who will be celebrating their 50 year reunion.
