ESU to Host Community Journalist Josh Popichak

East Stroudsburg University will host Josh Popichak for his talk “Tomorrow’s Journalism: From Print Reporter to New Media Entrepreneur – Forging a Journalism Career in a Brave News Ecosystem.” His presentation will be held on Thursday, February 27 at 1 p.m. in Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts. This event is open to the public at no cost.
Popichak will discuss his career and how journalism is adapting to an online world. The event will highlight entrepreneurialism in community journalism, and how individuals are working to preserve local news.
Popichak earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. He has worked in community journalism for almost 15 years in the Hellertown area, and as an editor for Patch.com. In 2014, Popichak founded Saucon Source LLC, a digital daily news platform. He also hosts a local news podcast, No Rain Date.
