ESU Students Accepted into Psi Chi: The International Honor Society in Psychology

Fourteen psychology students from East Stroudsburg University were recently accepted into Psi Chi: The International Honor Society in Psychology. Psi Chi holds the distinction of being the largest student psychological organization in the world, having over 700,000 members. Psi Chi’s mission is to promote excellence in scholarship and to advance the science of psychology. The ESU chapter was founded in 1980 and since that time, hundreds of students have become members of this prestigious organization. Reneé Boburka, Ph.D. professor of psychology, and Irina Khusid, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology, are the faculty advisors for this organization.

The new student members of Psi Chi for the fall 2020 semester are: Haille Adams, a senior psychology major from Newburgh, N.Y.; Alexandra Barchitta, a junior psychology major from Staten Island, N.Y.; Bianca Contino, a senior psychology major from Saylorsburg, Pa.; Jezel Cortes, a junior psychology major from Woodbridge, N.J.; Jailene Diaz, a senior criminal justice major from Reading, Pa.; Erin Driscoll, a senior psychology major from Stroudsburg, Pa.; Kamya Edmonds, a junior psychology major from Reading, Pa.; Jordyn Gilanyi, a senior psychology major from Toms River, N.J.; Jordan Houston, a senior communication major from Scott Township, Pa.; Felicia Markun, a senior psychology major from Whitehall, Pa.; Valentina Otero, a senior psychology and criminal justice double major from East Stroudsburg, Pa.; Maranda Ruble, a senior history and interdisciplinary studies double major from Hilton Head Island, S.C.; Briana Young, a senior psychology major from Union, N.J.; and Famela Zulu, a junior psychology major from Whitehall, Pa.
