ESU Announces 2022 Women’s History Month Keynote Speaker

The Gender and Sexuality Center at East Stroudsburg University announced Treneé Lurry ’12 M’21 will be this year’s Women’s History Month keynote speaker. The keynote address will be on Thursday, March 31 at 6 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall. It will also be available virtually via Zoom (https://esu-online.zoom.us/j/98983585202). The event is free to the public.

Lurry received her bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from ESU in 2012 and earned a Masters of Education degree in educational leadership from ESU in 2021. She is currently the dean of students at Lehman Intermediate School in the East Stroudsburg Area School District. She also serves as the district’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coach. Lurry began her career with ESASD in 2013 teaching life skills at East Stroudsburg High School North. She is SAP-certified and was a member of the school’s trauma team.

While pursuing her master’s degree, Lurry found her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion and she now trains staff on topics surrounding diversity.

In her keynote address she will reflect on her time at ESU and how her education led her to her current role.
