Senior Voice Recital Featuring Soprano, Karen Guilliams

East Stroudsburg University student Karen Guilliams, soprano, will present a senior voice recital Thursday, April 26.
The program will feature songs from the musical theatre repertoire including: “Mama Who Bore Me” from Spring’s Awakening; “You Are Love” from Show Boat; and “One Hand One Heart” from West Side Story. Guilliams is a voice student of Wendy Grice, adjunct assistant professor of music.
Curtain time will be at 7:30 p.m. at Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall of the university’s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg. The concert, sponsored by the Department of Music, is open to the public at no cost.
Guilliams is a theatre major from Cape May Courthouse, N.J. At ESU she appeared in appeared in A Christmas Carol, Sold, Blithe Spirit, The Lady of Larkspur Lotion, one of the 2011 Stage II One-Act Plays and As You Like It. She has participated in many choirs throughout elementary, middle and high schools. At ESU she was a member of Concert Choir, A Cappella Ensemble and University Singers for two years.
She has appeared in many high school and community musicals including: Les Misérables, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Damn Yankees, Godspell, Showboat, and Urinetown.
Joining Guilliams for the recital will be Shannon Christmann, a senior from Reading, Pa., majoring in theatre; Rich Hennessy, a senior from Carteret,N.J., majoring in business management; and Michael Llorett, a freshman from East Stroudsburg, Pa., majoring in theatre.
