East Stroudsburg University will hold its ninth annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on Tuesday, February 21 from 1-3 p.m. in Common Grounds, located inside the University Center. This year ESU will team up with Nurse-Family Partnership, an organization that empowers first-time mothers to transform their lives and create better futures for themselves and their babies by providing regular visits, care, and support throughout their pregnancy. This year’s Day of Service is co-sponsored by the Monroe County NAACP.

Donations of new and unused baby items – including diapers, baby bags, wipes, bibs, strollers, cribs, bottles, new clothing, shoes and self-care items for new mothers such as water bottles, face masks, nail polish, candles, bubble baths, blankets, journals, pedicure kits, manicure kits, and teas – can be brought to Common Grounds on the Day of Service. During this time students will make affirmation cards and magnets for new mothers.

For those unable to attend on February 21, donations can be brought to the Center for Multicultural Affairs and Inclusive Education, located on ESU’s campus at 96 Normal Street.
