Alumnus and Managing Director of Bank of America Spoke At Two Undergraduate Commencment Ceremonies

ESU alumnus, Timothy J. White ’83, managing director of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, spoke as keynote speaker at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s undergraduate graduation ceremonies, Saturday, May 12, in Koehler Fieldhouse. Two graduation ceremonies occurred on May 12 because of the high number of graduates, the first began at 9 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m.
White received his bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in computer science at ESU in 1983 and attended graduate school at the University of Baltimore and St. Joseph’s University. He is also a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an international economics honor society.
In his position at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, White is in charge of leasing and equipment financing sales and marketing activities in North and South America. He joined Bank of America in 1989 as a regional sales manager in the Northeast. After many assignments managing sales teams across the United States, he was recognized as the top producing sales manager of his group and was named to his current position in 2005.
White now manages a sales team of 50 financial associates, responsible for sales of more than $2.9 billion. In addition to developing new markets and products for Bank of America, he supervises revenue generation, profit and loss statements, and balance sheet management as well. Bank of America Merrill Lynch provides comprehensive market, industry, product and advisory expertise to more than 140,000 businesses in over 150 countries.
He has contributed articles to various journals on the topics of equipment leasing and accounting. He is also an active participant in various civic and charitable organizations including ESU’s Foundation, the Atlanta Police Foundation, and the King’s Ridge Christian School Finance Board.
White lives in Atlanta, Ga., with his wife, Karen, and two children, Meghan and Connor.
