With a new semester underway, East Stroudsburg University’s Department of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will add two new offerings to its range of resources designed to support students’ emotional well-being.

TalkCampus – is a free peer-to-peer support network app where students can share their struggles safely and anonymously or confidentially with fellow students from around the world any time, day or night. The app also features a multi-language helpline staffed by trained mental health professionals.

TELUS After Hours Crisis Support – offers free, confidential mental health counseling 24/7 via its mobile app or by phone at (877) 757-7587. Students can connect with a professional counselor via scheduled appointments, when an urgent need arises or any time they need to talk. Videos, articles and infographics on an array of wellness topics are also available.

Both services will be available to students beginning Monday, February 17. Each service features a mobile application that can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. Students should sign up using their ESU email.

The new offerings bolster CAPS’ current support resources, including counseling, mental health screenings, emotional well-being workshops, and self-help resources that are administered by a professionally trained staff of licensed psychologists/counselors. All services are confidential and free of charge to enrolled students.

The Department of Counseling and Psychological Services is located in the Health and Wellness Center, lower level of Sycamore Suites, room 037. To schedule an appointment or to ask questions, call (570) 422-3277 or visit the CAPS website.
