Pink Light Walk Planned to Heighten Awareness of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer survivors will join students from East Stroudsburg University and community members on Thursday evening, October 4 at 5:30 p.m. for the twelfth annual “Pink Light Walk,” which will begin in the Keystone Room at ESU and conclude at the Pocono Medical Center Dale and Francis Hughes Cancer Center at 206 East Brown Street in East Stroudsburg.
The event, which will be held rain or shine, is being sponsored by ESU’s Department of Health Services, ESU’s Student Activity Association, the Pocono Medical Center (PMC) Hughes Cancer Center, the Monroe County Office of the Area Agency on Aging and the Monroe Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
The event will begin with registration at 5:00 p.m. and information booths followed by a brief program at 6:00 p.m. The walk will start at 6:15 p.m. The first 500 people to register for the walk will receive a t-shirt and pink glow light candle to carry during the walk.
At the conclusion of the walk, participants may enjoy refreshments and participate in a raffle drawing. For more information about the Pink Light Walk, call the PMC Hughes Cancer Center at (570) 476-3488.
