“The Vagina Monologues,” the critically acclaimed play written by Eve Ensler, will be presented by students, faculty and staff members at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) on Monday, March 11 and Tuesday, March 12 at 8 p.m. in the Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts. Advanced tickets may be reserved by emailing flr0981@live.esu.edu. Tickets will also be available at the door. The cost for tickets is $10 ($5 for ESU students with valid ID). The box office will open at 7:30 p.m. each evening.
This 12th presentation of the Vagina Monologues is part of ESU’s celebration of Women’s History Month in March and will benefit Women’s Resources of Monroe County. Funds raised through ticket sales will support the cause of ending violence against women. This student-directed production of the “Vagina Monologues” is sponsored by ESU’s Feminist Alliance and the ESU Women’s Center. Feminist Alliance is a student organization affiliated with the Feminist Majority Leadership Alliance and funded by the ESU Student Activity Association.
The Vagina Monologues is based on interviews with a diverse group of hundreds of women. These interviews reveal the mystery, humor, pain, power, wisdom, outrage and excitement buried in the experiences of all women. The “Vagina Monologues” has been performed worldwide.
