ESU University Dance Company to Present Spring Performances

The spring performance of the University Dance Company (UDC) of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) will be held on April 25-27, 2013. This show will include a variety of styles of dance, including: jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and modern. Student choreographers include: Jaide Grim, Emily Hassinger, Deanna Vazzano, Nikolette Volpe, Joslyn Williams and Michelle Zbinden. Additional choreographers this year include Elizabeth Gibbons, Ph.D., a professor in the ESU Department of Movement Activities and Lifetime Fitness, and Natalie Schultz-Kahwaty, an adjunct professor in that department. Guest choreographers include Jacqueline Perna.
The shows will be held at 7 p.m. at the Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts (located in the circle in the front of campus) on Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is $4 for students, children, and senior citizens, $6 for ESU faculty and staff, and $8 for the general public. Tickets may be purchased at the door.
Returning members include: Nicole Brusca, a sophomore from Middletown, N.Y., majoring in sport management; Katie Constantine, a freshman from East Stroudsburg, Pa., majoring in early childhood/special education; Deven Dan, a sophomore from Bushkill, Pa., majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-physical therapy; Jessica Gigantino, a freshman from Mt. Ephraim, N.J., majoring in early childhood/special education; Brooke Grim, a sophomore from Fleetwood, Pa., majoring in early childhood and elementary education; Jaide Grim, a senior from Fleetwood, Pa., majoring in elementary education; Emily Hassinger, a sophomore from Collegeville, Pa., majoring in hotel, restaurant and tourism management; Karla Huyett, a sophomore from Quakertown, Pa., majoring in rehabilitative services; Kaitlyn Kessler, a sophomore from Tucson, Ariz., majoring in business management; Jessica McClure, a freshman from Fairless Hills, Pa., majoring in nursing; Kimberly Rittel, a sophomore from Mechanicsburg, Pa., majoring in social work; Kate Siley, a freshman from Philadelphia, Pa., majoring in social work; Emily Tankel, a sophomore from Philadelphia, Pa., majoring in social work; Deanna Vazzano, a sophomore from Budd Lake, N.J., majoring in French and Spanish; Nikolette Volpe, a junior from Sicklerville, N.J., majoring in elementary/special education; and Michelle Zbinden, a sophomore from Milford, Pa., majoring in social work.
New members to the company include: Courtney Bush, a sophomore from New Hartford, Conn., majoring in media communications and technology.
Members in the dance minor include Brusca, Dan, Hassinger, Rittel, Vazzano, Jade Grim and Zbinden
