An articulation agreement has been signed between representatives of East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) and the College of Sport and Health Science (CSHS), at Ritsumeikan University in Shiga, Japan.
This agreement will provide a student matriculating through the sport and health science degree at Ritsumeikan University an opportunity to confer a second bachelor of science degree in athletic training from ESU. Pictured here are individuals participating in the articulation agreement signing.

Welsh, Ph.D., ESU president; (standing, from left) Keith Vanic, Ph.D., ESU associate professor of athletic training; Satoshi Fujita, Ph.D., professor, college of sport and health science, Ritsumeikan University; Michael Southwell, ESU associate provost, instructional support; Mark Kilker, dean of the ESU College of Health Sciences; Tadao Isaka, Ph.D., associate dean and professor of sport and health science, Ritsumeikan University; Gerard Rozea, Ph.D., associate professor of athletic training, ESU and Kizzy Morris, director of enrollment services and registrar, ESU.
Following successful completion of coursework, the Ritsumeikan University student will receive a bachelor’s degree from ESU and become eligible to challenge the credentialing examination for athletic training through the Board of Certification (BOC™).
East Stroudsburg University has a national reputation for athletic training education, a status built primarily upon the professional contributions of its graduates and a tradition which is represented nationwide in high schools, colleges, universities, sports medicine clinics and professional sports teams.
