The East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) International Student Organization (ISO) recently held a festival. There were presentations, performances, and a fashion show, which gave students the opportunity to display the styles, and traditional attires of their home countries.
Attached photo from left–two of the student models for the fashion show: Kwaku Adjei-Bohyen, a senior majoring in political science, Kumasi, Ghana; and Aminata Touray, who received her degree in business management, Tallinding, The Gambia.
Other student models included Estefania Fematt Garcia, a sophomore majoring in biotechnology, Torreón, México; Lornah Misati, a senior majoring in health services administration, Kisii, Kenya; Aalih Hussein, a junior majoring in sociology, East Stroudsburg, Pa.; Amy Majani, a senior majoring in political science, Nairobi, Kenya; Sarah Morabu, who received her degree in public health, Nairobi, Kenya; and Kebba Kah, a first year graduate student majoring in public health, Serrekunda, The Gambia.
The ISO spring festival is a celebration of the many unique countries, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, traditions and languages that make up the international student community. Guests could sample food from around the world and enjoy student presentations on China, Columbia, Kenya, Mexico and other countries. Students were encouraged to attend so they could learn more about the ESU international student community. The ISO represents the international community of ESU. The purpose is to promote international understanding by developing programs through speakers, food tastings, dances and fashion shows. Students from over 30 countries are represented on campus.
