Members of the East Stroudsburg University community are invited to attend the seminar “Online Innovations in Learning” led by Penn State University’s Kyle Peck, Ph.D. on Friday, November 8, from 11 a.m. to noon in 113 Stroud Hall.
Throughout a long and prestigious career, Peck has consistently been an innovator in all levels of education. He draws from a variety of experiences in the field, including having been an elementary and high school teacher, a corporate trainer, on the board of directors of the International Society for Technology in Education, president of the Association for Educational Communications and Technology, and as associate dean for Research, Outreach and Technology at Penn State University.
Today, as professor of education and co-director of the Center for Online Innovation in Learning (COIL) at Penn State University, he continues working on exciting, new approaches for reaching out to and engaging students. On November 8, Peck will speak about some of these new approaches, including massive open online courses (MOOCs) and digital badges in higher education.
The event is free and open to all members of the East Stroudsburg University community. For more information, contact Tony Leisen at aleisen@esu.edu, the director of ESU’s Center for Teaching with Technology.
