Four female panelists took part in a “Women as Leaders” roundtable on Thursday, November 21, at East Stroudsburg University with the goal of allowing students the opportunity to interact with highly accomplished women who talked about their approaches to leadership and discussed any perceived barriers they face as female politicians and public figures.
More than 100 people attended the roundtable, which was organized by Kimberly S. Adams, Ph.D., ESU associate professor of political science. Adams also served as the roundtable’s moderator.
The panel included ESU President Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D.; Dr. Ginamarie Foglia, director of clinical development for the vaccine company Sanofi Pasteur Inc. in Swiftwater; Linda Diffley, vice president and general manager of Patterson-Kelley, Division of Harsco Industrial; and Suzanne McCool, Monroe County commissioner.
“It was a hugely successful event, and the students loved the interactions with the various professional women,” Adams said.
